Cultural Excursions
Visitors at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman Resort and Villas can get a glimpse into Caymanian history and customs in a new cultural program. Local experts introduce guests to traditional Caymanian activities - such as coconut husking, rope making, and weaving silver thatch palms into baskets and hats - while local historians recall the island's past.
"We are working closely with island historians and community artists to bring the real flavor and charm of the Cayman Islands to our activities," says general manager Doug Sears. "Culture is an important part of the island experience and, with these activities, guests will have a better understanding of island life." The resort also offers horticultural tours.
