There are 42 dive operations in Grand
Cayman, 5 in Little Cayman
and 3 in Cayman Brac and 2 liveaboard dive boats, the
Cayman Aggressor III and
Little Cayman Diver II.
A two-man double lock recompression
chamber is located at the
George Town Hospital, and manned on a 24-hour on call
basis by trained staff
from the Cayman Islands Divers chapter of the British
Sub Aqua Club, supervised
by a doctor trained in hyperbaric medicine.
Watersports
Other watersports available include deep
sea fishing (blue marlin,
yellowfin tuna, wahoo, dolphin , barracuda, grouper,
snapper); light tackle
fishing for bonefish, tarpon and permit (the Sister
Islands are best) snorkeling
trips; North Sound snorkeling/ beach lunch trips with
local Caymanian captains
to Stingray City; the Atlantis XI submarine(46
passenger) and RSL (2-passenger
deep diving subs); Mistral and BIC windsurfing centers
(2 operations on Grand
Cayman), Seaworld Explorer (semi submersible) and glass
bottom boat trips; parasailing,
water-skiing, ocean kayaking; small sailboats; sunset
cocktail, dinner and daytime
snorkeling cruises; waverunners and jet skis and variety
of 'beach/ water toys'
for rent at hotels along Seven Mile Beach; at Rum Point
and East End (Morritt's
Tortuga Club).
